Place, The World in a Suitcase
A Suitcase with a blank book, a blank t-shirt and a camera traveled around the planet. 35 designers and Artists have translated the world around them into their pages, fabric and lens. After 18 Months spent on the making, and 170.000 Km traveled, It was presented in Barcelona, at CCCB in November 2004, and after that, in other Spanish cities and South-American soil.

Place is a Project for creative investigation and anthropology output with the premise on how the place and surrounds of each one affects creativity. The Result of the project is a cartography in which the visual languages mix themselves all together, and whose cultural meanings are filtered through the identity of the individuals, corresponding at the same time on it’s variety of social realities, reformulated randomly without limitations.

Culminated on a series of exhibitions around the world, showcasing the artworks, videos, t-shirts, conferences and events between the participants, the local communities and the media. This project was curated by Vasava in Barcelona.
